Service Overview of the Japan Desk
The Japan Desk in Tokyo serves as the Tokyo HQ and AI back-office center of the ASIACOM Group. Front-line trade execution is mainly carried out by our Hong Kong company and regional Desks in Taiwan and the Philippines, while the Japan Desk focuses on trade structure design, documentation standards, group-wide systems and governance.
The services described on this page are not “packaged products”, but areas where we work with clients and partners to build practical, execution-focused solutions under a stable framework designed and maintained in Tokyo.
1. Role of the Japan Desk within Group Services
Rather than competing with the Hong Kong, Taiwan or Philippine Desks, the Japan Desk provides the underlying structure that allows each Desk to operate smoothly:
- Designing trade flows and documentation frameworks for multi-region cases
- Coordinating how contracts, risk assumptions and responsibilities are documented
- Operating AI-based tools that support contract search, FAQ and internal case retrieval
- Acting as a compact headquarters under Japanese law, focused on information and systems
This separation of roles allows each Desk to stay agile on the ground, while core logic and governance are anchored in Tokyo.
2. Business Activities (Trade Structures & Project Coordination)
In terms of “services”, the Japan Desk does not sell stand-alone products. Instead, we support the design and execution of trade structures handled by the Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippine Desks, especially when multiple regions or longer timeframes are involved.
- Structuring trade flows and roles among ASIACOM Group entities and partners
- Supporting documentation and contract design from a risk-awareness perspective
- Coordinating information between Desks so that practical teams share the same picture

3. Our Strengths – Hybrid of Trade Practice & AI
The Japan Desk’s strength lies in combining on-the-ground experience from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines with a Tokyo-based framework for contracts, risk management and AI.
- We do not treat AI as a toy, but as a tool grounded in real case histories
- We aim to keep the organization compact, while being capable of handling complex cases
- We focus on documentation and logic, not just on volume or headcount

4. AI Assistants – Tools Supporting Desk Operations
We operate AI assistants such as “Ive” to support the work of each Desk. The goal is not to replace human judgment, but to make it easier to find relevant information and to see how similar cases were handled in the past.
- Chat-style FAQ and internal documentation search for Desk members
- Trade term dictionaries and bilingual explanations for key concepts
- Support for standardizing how contracts, emails and notes are written
Over time, we aim to refine these tools so that they reflect real operations more closely, instead of remaining generic or superficial.

5. Future Plans – Tokyo HQ Initiative
The “Tokyo HQ initiative” is our internal name for gradually shifting more of the Group’s information, governance and AI infrastructure to Japan, while keeping each Desk free to make day-to-day decisions.
- Step-by-step integration of AI tools with contract and documentation workflows
- Building a shared knowledge base for Desk operations across regions
- Enhancing visibility for risk and compliance without over-centralizing authority
- Keeping headcount lean, focusing on systems and structure rather than size
