Overview of Trade Operations Across ASIACOM Group

Role of the Japan Desk in Group Business Activities

The Japan Desk does not perform day-to-day trade execution. Instead, it functions as the HQ-level center of the ASIACOM Group, designing structures, documentation, AI systems and risk frameworks that are used by the Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippine Desks.

Trade execution itself – contracts, shipping arrangements and negotiations – is handled mainly by the Hong Kong company and each regional Desk. The Japan Desk focuses on providing structure, clarity and governance so that these front-line operations can move quickly while remaining explainable.

1. Position of the Japan Desk within Group Operations

The Japan Desk acts as the headquarters function of the Group. Rather than trying to control every transaction from Tokyo, we provide a common framework that each Desk can rely on when handling local cases.

2. Core Back-office & AI Activities

Back-office and AI activities at the Japan Desk are designed to support the Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippine Desks, not to replace their judgment. AI is treated as a practical tool based on real trade operations.

3. Documentation Flow & Structural Design

The Japan Desk designs the “documentation architecture” used across all Desks, so that documents can be reused, audited and explained when necessary.

4. Coordination with Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippine Desks

Each Desk has its own role, while the Japan Desk keeps the overall structure aligned.

This combination allows the Group to maintain local speed at each Desk while keeping HQ-level stability and clarity at the Japan Desk.

5. Working with the Japan Desk

For multi-region projects or cases that require structured explanation, the Japan Desk serves as the first coordination point. AI is used to prepare preliminary, well-structured views, while sensitive matters are handled directly by staff.

If you need to discuss cross-border structures, documentation frameworks or group-wide coordination, please contact the Japan Desk via the Contact page.
